An Ode to 96’ Summer Olympics

Sometimes we find a piece that makes you wonder where it’s been and sometimes we find a piece direct from the history books.

Marked as the centennial of the original 1896 summer Olympics held in Athens, the 1996 Games was hosted by the US in Atlanta, Georgia.

Big Firsts: Not only was the 1st summer Olympics to be held in a different year than the winter games, but the US topped the metal table for the 1st time since 1984, winning 101 in total.

To celebrate all the incredible athletes at this year’s 2021 Summer Olympics and pay homage to the Summer Games of ‘96, we present a 6-piece capsule for the champs.
