Our Story

In a time when you thought your narrative would be defined by one chapter, you somehow kept writing and your character evolved. You turn the page, change the thread, and your story continues onto something unexpected.

In honoring the past through true vintage curation, we find the pieces that make you wonder where they’ve been, who was a part of their journey, and how you ever lived without them.

Our mission is to become a part of your your narrative.

In the fall of 2020 amid the global shutdown, two women met in Brooklyn for the first time.

As founders, Inicia Harris (left), an established Merchandiser, and Gabrielle Breitenbach (right), a Production Director & Stylist we are the editors behind The Narrative Vintage.

We came together through a shared belief that beautiful clothing already exists in this world.

Allow us to do the digging, so you can find your treasure.

By specially casting each

character (individual

garment with its own story), we strive to capture attitudes, perceptions,

and connections that cannot be expressed so literally.

Our Why

We at The Narrative love vintage because it represents individuality, heritage, quality, and a certain lifestyle that seeks special experiences over trends and mindless consumption. The searching for buried treasure mentality is something we all love.

Stories?

The idea of a story holds so much strength because it’s both unifying and distinctive. One’s own journey is unlike any other, but through sharing stories, folks can also find true connections and develop genuine intimacy.

Each character is unique, but the ability to share the story behind your experience starts conversations, creates connections, and bridges communities.

We think of all of our characters as confidants.

Con·fi·dant

/ˈkänfəˌdant,ˈkänfəˌdänt/

This type of character is the best friend or sidekick of the protagonist. They are a friend you can trust with your private thoughts and who you're sure can keep a secret.

Honor. Evolve. Keep that main character energy.
