Introducing: Miss Major Griffin-Gracy
Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, this fearless scorpio came to be widely known as “Miss Major.” An Iconic black-trans activist and community leader, who has fought for over 50yrs in support of transgender rights, with a particular focus on women of color.
As a veteran of the historic Stonewall Rebellion, former sex worker, and survivor of the Attica State Prison, Miss Major emerged from the 1969 Riot stronger than ever. She committed her life to advocating for her sisters in the trans community.
Today, Miss Major lives in Little Rock, Arkansas where she founded House of GG, a Safe Haven and Retreat for black trans and gender nonconforming leaders. Their mission is to create programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives, history, and visibility of Transgender, gender-questioning, and gender-nonconforming people.
